Biography
Dr. Ajay K. Banga is Professor and Department Chair in the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences at the College of Pharmacy, Mercer University, Atlanta, GA. He also holds an Endowed Chair in transdermal delivery systems and serves as co-Director for the Center for Drug Delivery Research. Dr. Banga has a Ph.D. in pharmaceutical sciences from Rutgers University, NJ. Dr. Banga has over 300 publications and scientific abstracts to his credit. He currently serves on the Editorial Board of 10 journals, as Associate Editor for one journal, and has served as the Editor-in-Chief for a drug delivery journal. He has written three single author books and over 12 book chapters in the areas of transdermal delivery and protein formulation/delivery. He is a Fellow of the American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists.
Research Interest
Investigate traditional and non-traditional approaches for topical and transdermal delivery of pharmaceuticals and cosmeceuticals, especially for water soluble small conventional molecules and macromolecules. His laboratory has received over 80 funded projects from industry in skin delivery systems.
Biography
Dr. Martin D’Souza obtained his Ph.D. degree from the University of Pittsburgh, PA, USA. He is a Professor & Director of Graduate Programs in the College of Pharmacy at Mercer University in Atlanta, Georgia. He also serves as the Director of the Clinical Laboratory and Co-Director of the Center for Drug Delivery Research. Dr. D’Souza has graduated over 45 Ph.D. students and has published over 90 manuscripts. He has been the recipient of several research grants from the National Institutes of Health (NIH), the American Diabetes Association, the Georgia Cancer Coalition, the Georgia Research Alliance. He serves on several Editorial Boards and is a Journal Reviewer for over 10 Scientific Journals and has several patents issued in the area of Nanotechnology.
Research Interest
Nanotechnology, the design of novel patented technologies to deliver nano vaccines via the oral, buccal, parenteral and microneedle based transdermal route. And involved in tissue bio-engineering- applications include the use of cell encapsulation and thermo sensitive gels for transplantation of pancreatic cells in diabetes.
Biography
He is major in Dentistry, Dental School, University of São Paulo (USP), and during undergraduate education, he had started in Science Research Life. Finally he graduated at Department of Dermatology, Medical School, USP, getting his Master and PhD degree in 2012. He is currently a post-doctoral fellow at Department of Pathology, Dental School and associate research scientist at Institute of Tropical Medicine. All projects have been involving Photo-protected sites Melanomas and Melanocytes Development studies, but he has been collaborating in others Stomatology Studies. Also he has an collaboration research study at Department of Pathology, Yale School of Medicine in 2015.
